I can usually just spray the gun wet, and then blast it out with air and it's good to go. Maybe some light brushing sometimes. My favorite post-cleaning oil is made by Outers and comes in an aerosol can. It's like $3.00. With these two items, I can clean guns way faster and safer than with my previous stuff.

Feb 26, 2018·I use either brake cleaner or Carb cleaner (whichever is on sale at WalMart) for cleaning out the crap inside of whatever gun I'm cleaning. It blows all the powder and lube out leaving a bone dry and clean surface. Put some fresh lube on and it's good to go. You can spend a lot more on products that do the exact same thing.

Many of the solvents that I use (especially for precision rifles) are corrosive to bronze so getting the brush clean in brake cleaner does two things. Mar 29, 2019·My go to CLP is Ballistol. I do use non chlorinated break cleaner to clean the barrel of my AR 14. It flushes everything out of the section where the BCG interlocks (that star/gear thingy). On everything else I use Ballistol. I use EWL30 for oiling and EWG as grease. I also tried Tetra Gun Grease with good results.

I doubt that powder burned on concrete could be compared to carbon fouling in a barrel. I trust BoreTech products to clean both carbon and copper from barrels. For carbon rings I use iosso.

I got some brakeleen from Kragen (the nonchorinated one) and used it on my gun. It seemed a bit aggressive and didnt smell or feel the same on my skin (got some on my hands) then gun scrubber.

Jun 04, 2012·Is it ok to use carborator cleaner or break cleaner to clean your guns as long as you apply gun oil afterwards? When I go to the range I usually shoot 4 to 6 guns and cleaning them is a pain I live in a small town and there are not a lot of places to buy gun scrubber however there are several places that sell carb and brake cleaner and I think it is cheaper too.
